Welcome to The Natural Way...

In 1978 a small natural foods store in Webster Groves has re-opened its doors to be recreated to new exacting standards, ensuring its success.  Located in an old historic building this store has the wonderful charm and friendly, personal atmosphere of the antiquated neighborhood grocer's of the past.

Business success found The Natural Way responding to the needs of the community and opening a second store in West County in 1990, followed by high demand from the ever growing population of health conscious consumers, a third store was established in Fenton in 2000. These two stores, though smaller than their parent store, are perfect for individuals making the transition to a healthier lifestyle, and expanding the healthy products market further into the Saint Louis area community.

At the Natural Way Health Food and Vitamin Centers you will find natural foods free of additives and chemicals, high quality herbs and vitamins, as well as various items for special diets and for people with food allergies.  In addition, a selection of natural body care, as well as cleaning products, pet products, books, and bulk foods are available. We are consistently adding time-tested herbal remedy formulations, as well as new gluten free items, and increasing Kosher-certified products.

Come and visit one of our stores today...  And start living The Natural Way.

Vitamin E Slows Decline in Patients With Mild Alzheimers

 Vitamins Old, Old Age

Every vitamin is made by living cells — either our own, or in other species. Vitamin D is produced in our skin, for example, when sunlight strikes a precursor of cholesterol. A lemon tree makes vitamin C out of glucose. Making a vitamin is often an enormously baroque process. In some species, it takes 22 different proteins to craft a vitamin B12 molecule.

While a protein may be made up of thousands of atoms, a vitamin may be made up of just a few dozen. And yet, despite their small size, vitamins expand our chemical versatility. A vitamin cooperates with proteins to help them carry out reactions they couldn’t manage on their own. Vitamin B1

, for example, helps proteins pull carbon dioxide from molecules.

Vitamins carry out these chemical reactions not just in our own bodies but in all living things. “If you talk about bacteria, fungi, plants, humans — everybody needs them,” said Harold B. White III, a biochemist at the University of Delaware. (Please click on this link to read the entire NY Times Article)

"Vitamins Might Reduce Breast Cancer Mortality"

"Older women who developed invasive breast cancer while taking multivitamin supplements with minerals had a 30% lower rate of breast cancer mortality than women who did not take supplements, according to an analysis of data from the Women's Health Initiative (WHI). The finding was published online October 7 in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment" (click on this link to read about this study).
